Charming houses to live in

I want to share with you two charming European houses to live in.
The first one is located in Belgium, the second one in Holland. I wonder which one you love the most?

HOUSE 1

The house in Belgium.

Typical Belgian style : you discover a lot of oak as the oak beamed ceiling and oak dining table, natural stoned floor, door of steel, the use of linen for upholstery and curtains.

A mix of local and eastern furniture.

Because the dining table was too dark coloured, the owners decided to sandblast the table. Isn’t she beautiful now?

The coffee table reminds me of the one you can obtain at Restoration Hardware (here).

What do you think about the fire place?

The kitchen :an old recuperation tiled floor, Belgian bluestone for the kitchen counters and again oak for the cabinet doors.

Notice again the steel door between the kitchen and the living area.

The entry with the sandblasted stairway.

The bedroom in warm natural colours.

The walls in the bathroom are finished with the Moroccan “ tadelakt” technique. To read more about this, click here.

The house in Holland.

Oak parquetry. Oak table of Belgian origin. Modern painting. Lamp made of an old Khmer-vase. Linen upholstery.

Do you feel the influence of Axel Vervoordt in this picture?

I love this image! I love the mix of the colours here.

Garden room with the trestle table! Again Axel Vervoordt influenced?

Isn’t that “egaline” floor (a sort of cement) beautiful?

Bedroom in soft colours! Beautiful!

The cabinet doors are lime painted.

Bathroom : A cement counter and sink.
